Virtual Panel Discussion:

Reimagining Workplaces Understanding Menstrual Leave in Light of the Karnataka Notification

We are pleased to announce a Virtual Panel Discussion titled “Reimagining Workplaces: Understanding Menstrual Leave in Light of the Karnataka Notification.” This event seeks to foster an informed and constructive dialogue on menstrual leave as an emerging dimension of workplace equality and gender-sensitive labour reform in India.

With the Government of Karnataka taking a pioneering step by issuing a formal notification on menstrual leave, this discussion brings together voices from law, healthcare, academia, and policy to critically examine the legal framework, medical realities, and implementation challenges surrounding menstrual leave.

The panel will deliberate on:

  • The significance of menstrual leave from a rights-based and health perspective

  • Key features and implications of the Karnataka notification

  • Employer responsibilities and workplace readiness

  • Addressing stigma and building inclusive work environments

  • The road ahead for menstrual health policies in India

“Empowering workplaces begins with acknowledging every woman’s lived reality.”
